Do’s every active job seeker needs to know while working with job search agencies:

1. Do Research on the Agencies

Before getting into an agreement with any agency carry out your research to find out which agency meets your needs. Not all agencies are the same; some only fill certain roles, such as administrating or accounting and others only hire for temporary positions or both. Plus each agency has a unique set of clients. Make a list of the factors that are most important to your job satisfaction and make sure the agency you choose fits your needs.

2. Be Flexible

When working with agencies, they get to recommend you for the many positions that come their way. If you reject several positions, the agency may stop offering them to you. So try to be open to what comes along. Don’t be afraid to work for a company you’ve never considered.

3. Do Prepare for the Interview

Job search agencies will require you to attended an interview with the client they would be placing you with; remember all employers want to hire talent with fitting qualifications. That means you’ll be required to go through an interview just as you would for a normal position, prepare for the interview the same way you would for any other interview: do your research, be on time, and look your best.

Don’ts every active job seeker needs to know while working with job search agencies:

1. Don’t Settle for Just Any Agency

Note that, like all other business; job search agencies want to please their clients. So look for an agency that is keen on meeting your goals. Also a genuine agency will not charge you directly/Immediately for their services; they deduct their fee once they place you for a job according to the agreed percentages.

2. Don’t Ignore the Fine Print

After settling for the agency of your choice, you should be given a contract stating what percentage of your salary they should deduct for the service of job placement among other agreement you might have with the agency. When you get the contract, make sure it is legit, read and understand the terms. Also, be aware of the agency’s policy on getting hired by a client.

3. Don’t Sit Back and Let Jobs Happen

Finally remember that signing a contract does not mean that you got that job. Some positions take time before there actually is an open post. To stay top of mind, make a point of regularly keeping in touch with the agency but in a professional manner, don’t be a stalker, but make sure to let them know you’re still looking.

Job searching can be a daunting exercise and in the processes many jobseekers get duped and conned in the name of getting a job in the easiest way. There are genuine job search agencies out there, all you have to do is look out for the above and you will be on the safer side.

  1. I am seeking for an agency job with this firm. Currently I’m a contracted employee of a Barclays bank but still under a different agent. I find your website exiting and would wish to join you on any accounting, marketing or any openings that might arise.

  2. I’m pleassed that some fellow job seekers have already secured opportunities with different employers through assistance by CS. I believe my time is cooming soon even though we’re already in December with no decent job. But, above all, God’s time is the best.

  3. I have been interviewed by you for a sales position after which I qualified to be interviewed further by your client who is a Unilever distributor. The problem is that the client has never called since August.

Improving your CV is the first step to a successful job search, but then again there are other factors to consider for example the jobs you are applying for. Do you meet 75% of what the employer is looking for. Timeliness , do you apply for the job within the first two or three days it was posted. Such kind of things

  5. hi ,have applied with you many jobs not even to get a single interview,i came for an advice and you directed me on how to improve my cv format but still in vain,

  6. But why do others require one to pay medical fee even before they call you for an interview? When you enquire further ,they say it’s refundable. To me this kind of an agent is a quack.
Furthermore they ask which town is nearest to you so as to direct you to a 3rd floor, room 12 for an interview. The agency is called kijani agencies.
