Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities entail: –

  • Securing information, documents, files, records and office equipment in a registry/archive;
  • Sorting, classifying and indexing documents for filing;
  • Storage, updating and maintenance of personnel records and    file index;
  • Controlling opening of open, confidential and secret files; 
  • Custody and Maintenance of Council’s documents; 
  • Planning appropriate office space for records;
  • Ensuring file movement records are updated and maintained; and
  • undertake any other functions as may be lawfully assigned.

Job Specification    
Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have: –

  • Diploma in Records Management, Information Management, Information Science, Library Science or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution; and
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
