Blooming Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Controller to join thei team in their flower farm. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all flowers meet the required quality standards from harvesting through to dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect flowers at harvesting and grading to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor compliance with customer specifications (length, stem strength, bloom stage, and overall appearance).
• Identify and report quality defects, pests, diseases or handling issues.
• Ensure proper post-harvest handling, hydration and storage procedures are followed.
• Train and guide workers on quality standards and best practices.
• Maintain accurate quality records and reports.
• Work closely with production and packhouse teams to minimize rejections and wastage.
• Ensure compliance with farm SOPs and international quality standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a flower farm (summer flowers an added advantage).
• Good observation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
