Kentalya Plc is a floriculture company located in Naivasha along Moi South Lake Road. We are seeking to recruit a dedicated Laboratory Supervisor to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Laboratory Manager with technical and organizational coordination of lab processes, including monitoring daily workflows and ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards
• Support personnel planning and cover during staff absences
• Carry out hands-on laboratory work including tissue culture, media preparation, culture monitoring, data documentation, and preparation of materials for dispatch
• Ensure hygiene, sterile processes, workplace safety, and conduct quality checks and spot inspections
• Train and mentor staff in laboratory techniques and safety protocols
• Monitor and ensure process compliance and workflow efficiency
• Support the control, assurance, and optimization of plant quality in consultation with the Laboratory Manager
• Support equipment maintenance, inventory management of consumables and media ingredients, and report deviations to Laboratory Management
• Work closely on a daily basis with production teams
• Maintain close collaboration with Laboratory Management

Qualifications:

• Training as a laboratory technician in biology, chemistry or agricultural, or an equivalent training
• Hands-on experience in the field of (plant) tissue culture is desirable
• Experience in staff supervision or team coordination at a supervisor level is desirable
• High reliability, strong organizational skills, teamwork and resilient
• Highly self-motivated, responsible, efficient, and quality-oriented method of working
• Good IT skills
• Good English skills
