Kirima Slopes Dairy Cooperative Society is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Extension officer to join our team. The Extension officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance, advice and support farmers. Work closely with farmers and other stakeholders to identify agricultural issues and implement sustainable farming practices. Promote the adoption of new technologies and innovations that can help increase productivity and improve on quality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct farm visits to assess the need of dairy farmers.
• Provide technical advice and guidance on dairy farming practices.
• Promote and facilitate the adoption of sustainable agricultural techniques
• Organize and conduct training sessions and workshops for farmers.
• Keep records and reports of extension activities
• Collaborate with other agricultural experts to address specific challenges.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Animal science or Agricultural Extension from a recognized Institution.
• At least Two years’ experience in the field preferably in the Dairy Sector.
• Knowledge of current agricultural practices within the dairy sector.
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to ride a motorbike and a valid license is an added advantage.
