Role Description

The Editors (Internship) role is a volunteer and remote position. Editors will engage in various editorial tasks, such as reviewing, editing, and refining content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Responsibilities include collaborating with writers to enhance storytelling, managing deadlines, and maintaining the editorial standards of The Bold East Africa. Interns will also contribute ideas and support content strategy initiatives for impactful journalism across digital platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Editing, Proofreading, and copyediting to ensure content quality and accuracy
• Proficiency in research and analysis to support content development and fact-checking
• Understanding of Content Writing and Creative Writing to enhance storytelling and engagement
• Organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with digital platforms and publishing tools
• Some knowledge of East Africa’s socio-economic and cultural topics is a plus
• Pursuing or completing a degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field
