The Dental Assistant will support the dental team in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality oral healthcare services. The role focuses on chairside assistance, infection prevention and control, instrument processing, and ensuring smooth patient flow within the dental unit.

  • Provide chairside assistance to the Dentist during clinical procedures
  • Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment prior to procedures
  • Ensure proper sterilization, disinfection, and storage of dental instruments in line with IPC standards
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized clinical environment
  • Support patient preparation, positioning, and comfort during procedures
  • Provide basic patient guidance on pre- and post-procedure care as directed
  • Manage turnaround of treatment rooms to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Support inventory management of dental supplies and consumables, including stock monitoring and reordering
  • Maintain accurate logs for sterilization cycles and equipment maintenance
  • Assist with administrative tasks within the dental unit as required (e.g., appointment coordination, patient records support)
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Certificate in Dental Assisting or a related healthcare field from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience in a dental clinic or hospital setting
  • Training in infection prevention and control and instrument sterilization
  • Familiarity with dental equipment and materials
  • Basic computer literacy; experience with EMR systems is an added advantage
