Job Purpose
To drive business growth through effective loan appraisal, disbursement, and recovery while maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring portfolio quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobilize members and generate quality loan business within assigned zones.
- Analyse loan applications by assessing financial statements, business viability, and creditworthiness.
- Ensure timely loan disbursement and strict adherence to credit policies.
- Monitor loan repayment and proactively manage the accounts.
- Offer members alternative solutions if they cannot qualify for the applied loan.
- Negotiate repayment plans and ensure efficient debt recovery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer and loan records.
- Prepare monthly financial and portfolio performance reports.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and promptly.
- Perform any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- A Diploma in Banking, Business Management, Business Administration or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Cooperative Management, Commerce, or any related field from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in credit management or a similar role within a financial institution, preferably in a SACCO or Microfinance institution.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with excellent customer service.
- A team player with the drive to improve performance.
- Self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision.
- A high degree of integrity and commitment.
