Key Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with various medical conditions.
• Take comprehensive patient histories and perform physical examinations.
• Prescribe medications and recommend appropriate treatment plans in accordance with professional guidelines.
• Order, interpret, and act on laboratory and diagnostic test results.
• Provide emergency and urgent medical care when required.
• Conduct minor surgical and medical procedures within the scope of practice.
• Offer health education, counseling, and preventive healthcare services to patients and communities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
• Refer patients to specialists or higher-level facilities when necessary.
• Participate in disease surveillance, health promotion activities, and community outreach programs.
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, ethical standards, and healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality patient care.

Qualifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution.
• Registered and licensed by the Clinical Officers Council (or relevant regulatory authority).
• Valid practicing license.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
• Knowledge of current medical practices, guidelines, and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications and electronic medical records systems is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to patient-centered care
