Our client, a reputable automotive body shop based in Karen, Nairobi, is seeking to recruit an experienced and results-driven Workshop Manager to oversee workshop operations, manage technical teams, and ensure efficient delivery of high-quality vehicle repair and bodywork services.
Location: Karen, Nairobi
Salary: KES 80,000 Gross
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the body shop workshop, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality service delivery.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise vehicle body repair, painting, panel beating, and restoration activities.
- Manage workshop staff, including technicians, painters, panel beaters, and support personnel.
- Monitor work progress and ensure jobs are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards.
- Develop and implement workshop schedules, work allocation plans, and performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and workshop operating procedures.
- Monitor workshop costs, resource utilization, and productivity to achieve operational targets.
- Manage customer repair orders, estimates, approvals, and service delivery updates.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of tools, equipment, materials, and spare parts.
- Investigate and resolve technical, operational, and customer service issues.
- Prepare workshop performance reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer satisfaction within the workshop.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Workshop Manager in a body shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair processes, panel beating, spray painting, and accident repair management.
- Proven experience managing workshop teams and operational performance.
- Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in workshop management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
