  • Welcome guests warmly as they arrive at the restaurant.
  • Escort guests to their tables and ensure they are comfortably seated.
  • Present menus and offer assistance with menu navigation, highlighting specials or promotions.
  • Accurately take guest food and beverage orders, noting any dietary restrictions or special requests.
  • Repeat orders back to guests for confirmation.
  • Enter orders promptly into the POS (Point of Sale) system.
  • Liaise effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery.
  • Deliver orders to tables efficiently and in a presentable manner.
  • Ensure all dishes and drinks are served correctly as per the guest’s request.
  • Check back with guests during their meal to ensure satisfaction and respond to additional requests.
  • Provide attentive, respectful, and friendly service throughout the guest’s dining experience.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or concerns professionally and escalate unresolved issues to the supervisor or manager.
  • Build rapport with repeat customers and create a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Prepare accurate bills as per the orders made.
  • Present checks and handle various modes of payment (cash, card, mobile money).
  • Issue receipts and ensure proper documentation for each transaction.
  • Clear used dishes, cutlery, and glassware from tables in a timely manner.
  • Reset tables neatly and quickly for the next round of guests.
  • Ensure all tables are clean and set to the restaurant’s standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working area at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Participate in daily cleaning duties, including wiping surfaces, refilling condiments, and arranging furniture.
  • Work closely with fellow wait staff, kitchen, and bar teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Attend staff briefings, training sessions, and contribute to team meetings.
  • Offer help to colleagues during peak hours or busy shifts.
  • Monitor and report low levels of condiments, tableware, or serving supplies.
  • Assist in setting up dining areas, restocking items, and closing procedures.
  • Support inventory checks when required.
  • Stay informed about current menu offerings, daily specials, and promotions.
  • Recommend dishes and beverages that enhance the dining experience.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to increase average guest spend while prioritizing guest satisfaction.
  • Certificate in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Service, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as a Waiter in a reputable restaurant, café, or hotel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a positive, energetic attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Must be a team player with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Good knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
