Video Editor Job

This will be a part-time position in the beginning, but can change to a full-time position within the first 1-2 month. Working hours are from 10am-2pm onsite at our office in Westlands, Nairobi.

In addition to being proficient in advanced level video editing, these are some of the soft-skills you should possess: team player, creative, work-play balance and appreciate new developments in the creative space.

As a video editor, you will undertake the following responsibilities and tasks:

Responsibilities:

Video Editing :

• Assembling raw footage and editing it into a polished video product, ensuring seamless transitions, proper pacing, and visual coherence
• Incorporating audio elements, including sound effects, music, and voiceovers, to enhance the overall impact of the video
• Adding text overlays, captions, and other graphic elements to convey information or emphasize key points
• Color correction and grading to achieve a consistent and visually appealing look throughout the video

Further knowledge preferred:

• Animation
• Video Editing
• Image/Graphic Design

Qualifications:

• To qualify as a video editor, candidates should meet the following criteria:
• Educational Background: Completion of basic education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C plus, certification in Digital Media, Video Editing and Production or its equivalent.
• Work Experience: At least 1 year’s work experience in a similar role with a reputable company
• Technological Proficiency: Able to integrate and use up to date video editing features and graphic design applications
• Language Skills: Fluent in English to effectively communicate with clients and produce desired edits on videos.

• Display high levels of discipline, time management, organizational skills, high levels of integrity, creative and dynamic.
• Ambition and Initiative: Possess a proactive and self-driven approach towards tasks and personal development
• Learning Aptitude: Fast learner, adaptive and keen on details
