Obradleys Investments Limited, is a key distribution partner for Kenya   Breweries Limited (KBL), catering to a diverse market through a strategically designed network of routes and stock points. The company is looking for a dynamic and result oriented van salesman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the truck in an established route, ensuring optimal outlet coverage, efficient product distribution and achieving volume targets for the assigned route.

  • Drive the van and sell products to customers.
  • Identify new sales opportunities in the trade.
  • Deliver purchase orders and inform existing customers about new products.
  • Ensure all brands/SKUs are loaded on the truck before departure.
  • Maintain product freshness through proper handling and FEFO practices.
  • Advise customers on stocking levels and SKU mix.
  • Communicate business information to clients, such as price changes and new brands.
  • Provide market feedback to management
  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of assigned tools, including phones, ETR machines, and trucks.
  • Maintain an accurate customer database to expand market coverage.
  • Build good customer rapport while gathering market intelligence.
  • Follow safety protocols and driving regulations while operating the company van, ensuring safe transportation of products and personnel.
  • Responsible for conducting daily reconciliation with both finance and stores team upon return from the field every evening
  • Resolve customer complaints, issues, or concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training sessions and product knowledge sessions to stay updated on company offerings and sales techniques.
  • Take orders from customers, process sales transactions and issue receipts for purchases.
  • Cross-sell or up-sell additional products to customers to increase order value and meet sales targets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Commercial Driving License Class C with a minimum of 4 years of driving experience.
  • Proven ability to meet sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in sales within the FMCG industry (experience with an alcoholic beverage firm is an added advantage).

Education:

  • KCSE certificate or Diploma in Sales and Marketing.
  • Computer literacy and experience with a digitalized sales system.
