Tailor Job Home Care Group Nairobi, Kenya
We are seeking to hire a skilled and experienced Tailor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality garments, carrying out alterations and repairs, and ensuring all finished products meet the required quality standards. The ideal candidate should have excellent sewing skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while meeting production deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Take accurate body measurements and interpret customer requirements.
- Cut, sew, alter, and repair garments according to specifications.
- Operate and maintain industrial and domestic sewing machines and other tailoring equipment.
- Perform fittings and make necessary adjustments to ensure the perfect fit.
- Read and interpret patterns, sketches, and garment designs.
- Select appropriate fabrics, threads, and accessories for garment construction.
- Inspect finished garments to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Carry out repairs and alterations on existing garments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Monitor fabric usage and minimize material wastage.
- Meet production targets while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of orders.
- Perform any other tailoring-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Tailoring, Fashion Design, Garment Construction, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in tailoring and garment construction.
- Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and tailoring equipment.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques, alterations, and fabric handling.
- Experience in making both men’s and women’s garments is an added advantage.
- Excellent sewing and finishing skills.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
