Specialist General Surgeon Job Isiolo CPSB
PART A: UNIVERSAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL POSITIONS
All applicants must meet the following baseline public service and statutory requirements:
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery MBChB or equivalent degree from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council KMPDC.
Licensing and Registration:
- Current valid registration certificate.
- Current valid specialist practising license issued by KMPDC.
Applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
Applicants must provide valid clearances from:
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission EACC
- Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI – Certificate of Good Conduct
- Kenya Revenue Authority KRA
- Higher Education Loans Board HELB
- Credit Reference Bureau CRB
- Job Summary: Perform complex elective and emergency surgical procedures. Manage the surgical department and specialized outpatient surgical clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform emergency and elective general surgical procedures.
- Conduct ward rounds and manage pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Run surgical outpatient clinic and handle referrals from lower-level facilities.
- Participate in 24/7 surgical on-call rotation for emergency coverage.
- Oversee infection control and quality assurance in theatre.
- Supervise, mentor and assess interns, medical officers and theatre nursing staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master of Medicine (MMed) in General Surgery or equivalent post-graduate qualification recognized by KMPDC.
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience with active clinical practice in General Surgery

- Fulfill the requirement of chapter (6) six of the constitution of Kenya listed in part A.
- Medical doctors should clearly apply for the post as indicated in the advertisement
