Person Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Remote Sensing, Geographical Information Science, Geo-Spatial Engineering, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Control and Instrumentation, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and reviewing policies, regulations, and guidelines for space education and awareness in space science and technology;
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders to support the integration of space science and technology into educational curricula;
  • Conducting assessments to identify space education and capacity-building needs, providing technical inputs for analysis and planning;
  • Promoting research efforts in space education, assisting with coordination and dissemination of research findings;
  • Coordinating with stakeholders to raise awareness of space-related education programs and initiatives;
  • Implementing space education and awareness programs, ensuring effective delivery of activities;
  • Coordinating and promoting training and capacity-building activities within the space sector, ensuring efficient use of resources;
  • Promoting public awareness of GEO-STEAM and highlight its significance for space science and technology;
  • Support the establishment and operationalization of space museums and public information centers, managing logistical and administrative tasks;
  • Contributing to knowledge management in space education and awareness by organizing materials and promoting knowledge-sharing platforms; and
  • Identifying potential risks and supporting mitigation measures in space education and awareness programs.
