Person Specifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Aeronautical/Aerospace, Remote Sensing, Geographical Information Science, Geo-Spatial Engineering, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Control and Instrumentation, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking coordinating of drafting of policies, guidelines, and regulations related to space research and innovation, ensuring alignment with strategic goals;
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders of space research and innovation;
  • preparing reports and technical materials on promotion of research in space science, emerging technologies, and related fields;
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of a centralized database of research, innovations, and space objects, ensuring its accuracy and completeness;
  • assisting in the preparation of proposals, identifying resources, and managing logistics for establishment of centres of excellence;
  •  Tracking progress and preparing status reports of research and innovation projects for funding and implementation, including;
  • Ensuring the protection of intellectual property and assisting with the necessary documentation space innovations;
  • Maintaining a registry of pool of experts and professionals within the space ecosystem;
  • Implementing the set compliance standards and regulations set in research and innovation projects; 
  • Organizing workshops, training sessions, and maintaining knowledge-sharing platforms in capacity-building and knowledge management activities;
  • Identifying potential risks and assisting in the development of mitigation strategies for space research and innovation.
