Position Overview
We’re seeking a detail-oriented QA Tester to join our dynamic team and ensure the highest quality standards for our web and mobile applications. You’ll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional software solutions that empower African businesses to thrive in the digital landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Execute comprehensive testing of web applications built with Angular, React, and other modern frameworks
- Test mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, including Flutter and Ionic-based apps
- Perform functional, usability, performance, and compatibility testing
- Conduct regression testing to ensure new features don’t break existing functionality
- Test PWA (Progressive Web App) functionality and offline capabilities
- Validate responsive design across multiple devices and screen sizes
Documentation & Reporting
- Create detailed test plans, test cases, and testing documentation
- Report bugs and issues using structured bug tracking systems
- Document testing procedures and maintain testing standards
- Collaborate with development team to reproduce and resolve issues
- Maintain test case repositories and testing artifacts
Cross-Platform Testing
- Test applications across different browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera Mini)
- Validate mobile app functionality on various Android devices (Tecno, Samsung, etc.)
- Ensure applications work optimally in low-connectivity environments
- Test offline functionality and data synchronization features
Client-Focused Testing
- Understand client requirements and translate them into testing scenarios
- Validate that applications meet client specifications and business requirements
- Test user workflows from end-user perspective
- Ensure applications align with African market needs and contexts
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience: 2+ years in software testing or QA roles
- Web Testing: Proficiency in testing web applications (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
- Mobile Testing: Experience testing iOS and Android applications
- Testing Tools: Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools (Selenium, Cypress, Jest, or similar)
- Bug Tracking: Experience with issue tracking systems (Jira, GitHub Issues, or similar)
- Browsers: Knowledge of cross-browser testing and compatibility issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
- Knowledge of API testing (REST, GraphQL)
- Familiarity with Firebase, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Experience testing PWAs and offline-capable applications
- Basic understanding of Angular, React, Flutter, or Ionic frameworks
Soft Skills
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to identifying issues and inconsistencies
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting abilities
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with developers, designers, and project managers
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Cultural Awareness: Understanding of African business contexts and user needs
