Social Media & Press Officer Job

Duties:

  • Communication and promotion of the activities of the French Embassy
  • Implementation of communications strategies and activities
  • Daily press, media and social media monitoring
  • Political and civil society developments monitoring
  • Preparation and development of communications products and contents
  • Management of the Embassy’s website and social pages as community manager
  • Preparation of written press statements
  • Being the point of contact for journalists
  • Organisation of the ambassador’s visits and social events in terms of communication

Job expectations:

  • Proficiency in digital communication
  • Proficiency in office software
  • Proficiency in writing articles, posts and press statements
  • Experience of dealing with journalists and social media influencers
  • Strong cyber culture and in-depth knowledge of social media tools
  • Knowledge of the full range of communication approaches, tools and methodologies
  • Perfect command of English and Kiswahili, good command in French is desirable
