Social Development Officer II Job Elgeyo Marakwet CPSB
Project Management Jobs, Elgeyo Marakwet CPSB Jobs. Responsible for mobilising communities and local resources for development projects, maintaining social development databases, collecting data on gender, disability and vulnerable groups, supporting gender and social empowerment programmes, counselling and guiding GBV victims, registering self-help groups and CBOs, and supporting community development projects. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, Gender Studies, Counselling, Business Administration, or a related field. The position is based in Iten and requires on-site work.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with communities to identify and mobilize local resources for the implementation of development projects; Developing and maintaining database of gender disaggregated data, orphans and vulnerable children, elderly Persons and people with disabilities; Collecting data on gender mainstreaming,socio-economic empowerment ,female genital mutilation and sexual and gender-based violence programs and projects; counseling victims of Gender Based Violence guiding communities develop Community Action Plans(CAPs);liasing with local communities and other development agencies in implementing community development programmes; identifying self help groups and community based organizations for registration; collecting social development related data for planning; guiding communities and self-help groups to identify their social economic needs and mobilizing communities to implement their development projects and mainstreaming disability in programmes and projects.
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, an applicant MUST have: –
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, Psychology, Community Development, Project Development/ Management, Disability Studies, Counselling, Gender Studies, Gender and development, Business Administration/ Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
