We are seeking a Level 2 Service Technician who is competent, hands-on, and able to work independently on most service and repair tasks. This role is suited for technicians with solid automotive experience who can diagnose common faults, support field operations, and contribute to a high-performing service team.

  • Independently perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on electric buses
  • Diagnose and rectify common EV, electrical, and mechanical faults
  • Conduct fault-finding and basic diagnostics on:
    • Battery packs
    • Electric motors and inverters
    • Charging systems
    • Vehicle control systems
  • Accurately interpret wiring diagrams, fault codes, and service documentation
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve issues
  • Support breakdown recovery, roadside assistance, and field service activities
  • Record all work carried out, including fault findings, parts used, and corrective actions, in company systems
  • Escalate complex, recurring, or safety-critical issues to senior technicians and engineering teams
  • Support and guide Level 1 Service Technicians during service and repair activities
  • Follow all BasiGo safety procedures, particularly High Voltage (HV) safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
  • Perform any other reasonable duties required to support service operations
  • Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience working on commercial vehicles (buses, trucks, cars, or industrial EVs).
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems. Experience with electric vehicle (EV) systems is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience performing independent servicing, diagnostics, and repairs.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage vehicle systems and safe working practices.

  • Comfortable with physical, hands-on work in workshop and field environments
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, or extended hours when required
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
