Position Summary

This role is responsible for coordination and support of purchasing activities amongst all user departments. It requires the individual to source for the required items in a timely and cost efficient manner. Should always ensure minimum stock level is maintained at all times to avoid any stock out of materials.

Budget: KSH 100,000 -150,000 Gross

Key Responsibilities

• Procuring materials as requested by the user departments.
• Coordinating purchasing and stores activities to achieve the department’s objectives.
• Setting up and implementing purchasing systems and procedures.
• Evaluating and rating suppliers in terms of efficiency, price, delivery time and quality of products.
• Monitor trends in supplier and contract base and propose/implement plans to respond to such trends.
• Build and develop good relationships with key suppliers to ensure best value for money and customer satisfaction with services provided.
• Raising purchase orders, requesting for quotations and also making sure that orders are placed and all deliveries done promptly.
• Posting all inventory forms on a daily basis.
• To ensure all the correct cost price are posted in ERP and Pastel.
• To assist in stock reconciliation.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional certification in procurement such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), KISM (Kenya Institute of Supplies Management), or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
• 5 years of experience with 2 years in a similar position in a Food Manufacturing Industry is a Must.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or Pastel) and strong computer literacy in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and google sheets.
