The Sales Manager will contribute to the Gratia Energy Ltd’s strategy and direction through setting and implementing business development strategies and plans aligned to growth projections and capacities. They will play a key role in the successful achievement of sales and sustainability targets. Not only will they ensure the smooth operation of the Sales Team, they will also ensure Sales team’s efforts are fully supported and focussed on achieving agreed upon targets.

General Accountability

Accountable for the overall management of the sales team’s operations, monitoring, reviewing and improving sales team’s flow of activities and overseeing the implementation and compliance with sales best practices. 

  • Develop an overall Sales Strategy aligned with Gratia Energy’s strategic direction for the next 2 to 3 years.
  • Work with the Leadership team to align the Sales Team towards the overall direction of the organisation and ensure coherence with all the departments within Gratia Energy Ltd
  • In collaboration with the CEO, develop and implement Sales KPIs and Targets aligned with Gratia Energy’s Strategy.
  • Work with the CEO to develop action plans to enter and penetrate new markets. 
  • Regular meetings and reviews sessions with the sales team, using quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making. 
  • Oversee the implementation of sales training, and ensure that action points and lessons from these training are effectively implemented and maintained as the organisation scales.
  • Implement incentive systems including a suitable commission structure to boost sales and motivate the Sales Team towards target achievement.
  • Collating and reporting on customer and sales data to enable leadership to make effective decisions to help further drive sales growth.  
  • Understand project costing, margins, and financing structures while ensuring projects being pursued are commercially viable and aligned with company goals.
  • Implement, monitor and evolve internal operational controls within sales and periodic sales level reviews of the same to ensure compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate the daily activities of business development while ensuring proper documentation of quotations, agreements, approvals and handovers.
  • Develop and review business development plans to ensure attainment of company targets and projected profitability.
  • At least 5 years of progressive work experience in a similar capacity, preferably in Green Energy.
  • Structured individual with a passion for the start-up environment, ability to handle fast-changing priorities and achieving challenging goals.
  • Experience in the start up environment is highly desirable
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast paced environment
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills and a high level of business acumen
  • Ability to analyse sales information and data using various tools to help with decision making. 
  • Interest in working in a fast-growing organization and being an integral part of aggressive scale efforts.
  • A positive, solutions-oriented attitude, drive for excellence, and ability to be a team player.
  • Experience in administrative and operational processes within start – ups is desirable.
  • Demonstrable leadership ability and excellent people management skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and networking skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to various regions across the country is highly desirable.
