Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the overall purpose of this role is to;

  • Deliver volume, revenue and Market share growth targets for the Ruminant category by identifying and closing gaps in commercial execution, market and technical approaches.
  • On farm support for dairy, beef and shoat farmers – TMR formulations and farm management advisory services.
  • Seek out and collaborate with industry players including but not limited to dairy cooperatives, milk aggregators/processors, research institutions and feed and fodder growers among others.
  • Work closely with marketing in developing new product/concepts and undertake product field trials.
  • Empower the sales team and the entire business with knowledge on animal husbandry and UFCEAs ruminant portfolio

  New Product Development

  • Identify market gaps and revamp the product category.
  • Identify market gaps, research market opportunities and customer/market needs, propose and develop new products to increase revenue.
  • Conduct products demonstration trials or Market Acceptance Study for product acceptance in the market and build customer confidence.

 Technical Advisory

  • Provide technical support to the UFCEA sales team on new and base products
  • Identify technical gaps and continually develop training materials to empower and boost UFCEA sales team confidence for more customer engagement aimed at increasing market share.
  • Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders in technical trainings to improve confidence on UFCEA team’s expertise and keep abreast on modern and emerging technologies aimed at increasing market share growth.

 Sales and Market share growth

  • Research on market development and develop and execute strategic plans to increase sales volume/revenue
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the livestock industry to empower clients (through trainings) for more sales volumes/revenue.
  • New products follow-up to maturity.

Team work

  • Maintain healthy relationships for smooth operations.
  • Identify technical gaps and build capability for the team.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences with experience in the Livestock value chain
  • Post Graduate Diploma in International Animal Health (IAH)
  • Valid driving License.
