Restaurant Manager Job Tamarind Group Nairobi, Kenya
Responsibilities:
- Floor Leadership & Vibe: Manage dining ambiance (lighting, music, seating layouts) and floor flow across all sections (terrace, lounge, main floor).
- Service Excellence: Oversee waitstaff and supervisors to ensure quick food ticket times, friendly casual-dining service, and high grooming standards.
- Kitchen & Food Quality Alignment: Partner with the Head Chef to ensure grill items, comfort food, and signature dishes meet quality, taste, and temperature standards.
- Guest Experience & Community: Touch tables, engage regular guests, handle feedback/complaints instantly, and drive positive online customer reviews.
- Financial & Labor Control: Prepare shift rosters, control front-of-house labor costs, manage daily POS floor reconciliations, and drive menu upselling.
Qualifications:
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related field
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years as a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Manager in a busy casual dining restaurant or pub-grill environment.
- Skills: POS system fluency, floor management techniques, conflict resolution, and staff training experience.
- Attributes: Highly personable, organized, proactive problem solver with strong customer relationship skills.
