Consultant for SaaS Costing and Pricing Strategy – EOS Platform (Manufacturing/FMCG)

Our Client is a software company that has developed a web and mobile-based EOS (Enterprise Operating System) application tailored to the needs of the manufacturing sector, FMCG companies, and supply value chain players. As we prepare to scale our platform, we are seeking an experienced consultant to help us analyze the cost structure and develop a strategic, competitive, and profitable pricing model for the various categories of clients.

Objectives

The main objectives of this engagement are:

  • To understand the full cost base (development, operations, onboarding, support, etc.).
  • To benchmark against industry pricing standards in manufacturing and supply chain SaaS.
  • Segment our customer base and identify value-based pricing opportunities
  • To develop tiered or modular pricing packages for all our products that align with customer segments and value delivered.
  • Develop a full pricing strategy report (with financial models, assumptions, and rollout plan)
  • Propose pricing models and commission structures for channel partners, resellers, and white-label opportunities.
  • To create a scalable pricing model that supports growth and profitability.

Scope of Work

The selected consultant will be responsible for:

Cost Analysis

  • Review internal cost structures, including dev, infrastructure (e.g., cloud), support, and sales.
  • Model unit economics (e.g., CAC, LTV, gross margin, breakeven).

Market and Competitive Analysis

  • Analyze pricing models of competitors or comparable platforms in our verticals.
  • Interview or evaluate customer segments to determine willingness to pay.

Pricing Strategy Development

  • Design 2–3 pricing tiers/packages (e.g., usage-based, seat-based, module-based).
  • Recommend introductory pricing, discount strategies, and expansion pricing (e.g., upsell paths).
  • Develop ROI and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) arguments to support sales efforts.

Documentation and Handoff

  • Deliver a pricing strategy report including models, assumptions, and recommendations.
  • Provide documentation and, optionally, train the internal team on how to adapt pricing over time.

Deliverables

  • Cost analysis model (Excel or similar)
  • Competitive pricing benchmark report
  • Tiered or usage-based pricing proposal
  • Channel/Partner pricing framework with proposed commissions or margins
  • Customer value map (if applicable)
  • Recommended client pricing framework with rationale
  • ROI/TCO calculators or sales enablement material
  • Final strategy presentation with Q&A session

Timeline

  • Project Start: 01st July 2025
  • Expected Duration: 4–6 weeks

Milestones:

  • Week 1: Discovery & data collection
  • Week 2–3: Cost modeling & market research
  • Week 4–5: Pricing strategy development
  • Week 6: Final delivery & review

Budget

  • Please include your proposed fee or pricing model for this engagement (hourly, fixed-fee, or milestone-based). Preference will be given to consultants with experience in SaaS pricing for manufacturing or logistics platforms.

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevant experience in SaaS pricing and costing
  • Understanding of B2B/industrial tech sectors
  • Strength of past deliverables (samples requested)
  • Value offered vs. cost
  • References or client testimonials
