Job Purpose

To provide comprehensive general nursing care by admitting, assessing, and monitoring patients, administering treatments, and supporting clinical procedures to ensure safe, evidence-based care and optimal patient outcomes in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Nurse In-charge in the area of deployment, the position holder will be responsible for the following:

• Providing general nursing care and support to patients in accordance with hospital standards and protocols.
• Receiving, registering, and recording patient information and presenting it to medical officers and specialists for review.
• Administering prescribed medications and treatments accurately and safely.
• Monitoring patients’ progress, documenting observations, and reporting changes to
• medical officers and specialists.
• Supporting medical officers and specialists during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Ensuring cleanliness and adherence to infection prevention and control standards in patient care areas.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to manage patients with complex medical conditions.
• Participating in nursing research, training, and continuous professional development activities within the hospital.
• Any other duties as may be assigned.

Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN)/Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN).
• Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) will be an added advantage.
• Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya).
• Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya).
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Compliance with Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya.
