Radiosonographer (Locum) Job

Reporting to the Radiology Manager, the successful candidate will ensure provision of effective, efficient, and quality imaging (Ultrasound and general radiography) services in the hospital.

  • Receive, process, undertake initial patient evaluation and provide quality diagnostic imaging.
  • Accurately perform, provide findings on all ultrasound examinations including Doppler ultrasounds by capturing images of diagnostic value.
  • Timely reporting of identified critical results to the requesting physicians while keeping the records of reported cases as per departmental processes.
  • Timely archival of images in the hospital PACS, and retrieval and dispatch of validated radiology reports as per the departmental processes.
  • Ensure radiation safety and protection measures are observed to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety for patients, staff, and self.
  • Ensure scheduled maintenance, and calibration of medical equipment are in place and followed.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and care of patients’ records.
  • Higher National Diploma in Ultrasound from a recognized institution.
  • Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences or bachelor’s degree in Radiography.
  • Two (2) years’ working experience in a similar position.
  • Registered and licensed by the Kenya Nuclear Radiological Authority.
  • Member of professional body preferably SORK.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
