Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from preliminary design stage to completion.
• Monitoring project expenditures, tracking expenses, and identifying cost variances to ensure the project remains within budgetary constraints.
• Advising on cost-saving opportunities (value engineering) and the financial implications of design changes.
• Assisting in the preparation of tender and contract documents, including Bills of Quantities (BoQ) and specifications.
• Evaluating tenders, negotiating contracts, and procuring materials and subcontractors to ensure value for money.
• Managing and administering contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
• Conducting interim valuations of work completed on site and preparing regular payment applications and certificates for contractors and subcontractors.Preparing and settling final accounts at the project’s conclusion.
• Identifying, analyzing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
• Preparing regular financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost value reconciliations (CVRs) for stakeholders and project managers.Liaising effectively with clients, architects, engineers, site managers, and contractors.
• Conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, assess work quality, and track material usage and consumption.
• Mentoring or guiding junior or assistant quantity surveyors (depending on the role’s specific level).

Key Skills and Qualifications

•  A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is typically required.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in cost estimation software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with Building Information Modeling principles and relevant software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant contract law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong commercial awareness
