Duties and Responsibilities

• Independently establishing clients’ requirements, conducting comprehensive feasibility studies, and providing authoritative cost advice at all early project stages to guide sound investment decisions.
• Preparing detailed Cost Plans, Bills of Quantities, and cost estimates in line with project specifications and client budgets, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current market rates and industry standards.
• Preparing comprehensive tender evaluation reports and detailed cost analyses to support informed procurement decisions, including assessment of contractor bids, value engineering recommendations, and risk identification.
• Preparation of professional consultancy proposals, detailed work plans, and method statements that clearly articulate scope, deliverables, timelines, and fee structures to secure and execute client engagements effectively.
• Preparation and administration of FIDIC and JBC Contracts tailored to project requirements, including drafting contract conditions, managing contract correspondence, and ensuring all parties comply with contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Providing expert advice on contractual arrangements, dispute resolution mechanisms, extension of time claims, and variation assessments, safeguarding the interests of the client at all times.
• Preparation of interim valuations, financial appraisals, and final accounts to ensure accurate project cost reporting and client satisfaction.
• Maintaining up-to-date awareness of all ongoing projects within the office, ensuring continuity of service and proactive cost management.
• Representing the company at project meetings, site visits, and client engagements, conveying professional competence and effectively communicating cost and contractual positions to all stakeholders.
• Demonstrate leadership capability by guiding and motivating a team to consistently achieve set objectives and deliver quality outputs on time.

Minimum qualification

• Bachelor of Quantity Surveying or equivalent from a recognized institution
• Professional registration with BORAQs
• At least five (5) years’ post-registration experience in a busy Quantity Surveying or Construction Consultancy firm, with demonstrable exposure to full project lifecycle cost management.
• Possess strong business etiquette with an unwavering work ethic, high level of integrity and honesty, and a results-driven mindset with ability to self-manage.
• A thorough technical understanding of building and civil engineering construction methods, materials, and procurement routes, with the ability to apply this knowledge to cost planning and contract administration.
• Demonstrable ability to work within set & strict deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured professional documents and confidently represent the organization before clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
