Programme Management Officer, P3 managing strategic implementation, scale-up and evaluation of the Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation Fund, including monitoring, reporting and research to support adaptation programme and policy work, requiring an advanced university degree in Environmental Management, Climate Change or Environmental Sciences, 5 years relevant experience and 2 years managing project budgets of USD $10M and above, in a UN intergovernmental environment, on-site role.

Responsibilities

• Work with partners to manage the strategic implementation, scale-up and evaluation of the Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Fund, including monitoring and analysis, drafting reports and preparing documents and meetings for the management of the Fund.
• Carry out task management responsibilities and support other adaptation-related projects and programmes, as required.
• Carry out research, gathering inputs and drafting documents to support programme, policy and normative work related to adaptation.
• Support the organization of technical meetings including drafting agendas, drafting speaking notes, background notes and participant lists.
• Collects and analyzes data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods to enable data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting.
• Perform any other duties as required.

Education

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in environmental management, climate change, environmental sciences or related area is required.
• A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.

Work Experience

• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant and progressively responsible work experience in the area of climate change, adaptation, ecosystems or environment-related work is required.
• At least two year’s experience in providing technical inputs and strategic advice in the implementation of climate change adaptation projects is required.
• At least two years’ experience in managing project budgets of USD $10M and above is required.
• Experience working within the United Nations, or in other intergovernmental or comparable international organisations, is desirable.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in monitoring and analysis, drafting technical and meeting reports, preparing supporting documentation and taking responsibility for planning meetings within an international context is desirable
• Two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable
