Duties and Responsibilities
Production Management
- Plan, lead, and coordinate daily production operations to meet output, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Ensure production lines operate at optimal capacity while minimizing downtime.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust plans based on material availability, staffing levels, and workflow constraints.

Quality & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and food safety standards.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address deviations, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, audit standards, and company policies.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, guide, and motivate production teams to deliver high performance and foster a culture of accountability.
- Conduct training, coaching, and skills development for production staff.
- Manage shift rosters, attendance, discipline, and overall workforce planning.
Operational Efficiency
- Evaluate production processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Troubleshoot production issues efficiently and implement long-term solutions.
- Optimize resource utilization including raw materials, labor, and equipment.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Enforce safety policies and ensure all employees follow proper procedures and use PPE.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Promote a safe working environment and support HSE initiatives.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, downtime, waste, and maintenance needs.
- Support procurement and inventory teams in monitoring raw material usage and forecasting needs.
Key Requirement Skills And Qualification
- Degree/diploma in food science or related field
- 3 years’ experience working as a production supervisor or a quality control officer in a food processing company preferably a tomato paste/sauce, jam industry
- Strong working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety systems
- Proven leadership experience with excellent communication and team-management skills
- Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office and production management software is an added advantage
