Principal Officer, Corporate Communications Job

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

  • Developing, implementing and reviewing policies, strategies, regulations and procedures on corporate communications.
  • Promoting and managing the corporate image.
  • Coordinating the implementation of branding, awareness and social responsibility activities to enhance visibility.
  • Developing content for events and information for uploading on the website.
  • Managing and monitoring media coverage and submitting media reports.
  • Coordinating public functions and corporate events.
  • Coordinating the development of Information, Education, Communication (IEC) materials including merchandise and promotional materials for publication.
  • Coordinating the preparation of reports, speeches, publications, website content, newsletters, outreach materials and audio/video production.
  • Reviewing events and information to be uploaded on the website.
  • Monitoring and managing media coverage and submitting media reports.
  • Coordinating public functions and corporate events.

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

  • Served for a minimum period of eight (8) years, three (3) of which should have been in a supervisory position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, International Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, International Relations or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Membership with a relevant professional body in good standing.
  • Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
  • Met the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

  • Successful candidates will be required to submit the following compliance documents prior to issuance of appointment letters, in accordance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (2010):
  • Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
  • Clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) clearance report.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
