Principal Lecturer ,KIHBT Job PSCK

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

  • cumulative service period of nine (9) years, three (3) years of which should have been in the grade of Senior Lecturer KIHBT  CSG 8 or in comparable and relevant positions in the public service;
  • a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: – Civil Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geospatial Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Mechatronics Engineering, Architecture or its equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya;
  • registered by relevant professional body as a graduate;
  • registered as a professional and corporate member of the relevant professional body;
  • a Certificate in Training of Trainers lasting not less than four (4) weeks
  • OR
  • a Diploma in Technical Education or Postgraduate Diploma in Education; and
  • demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level may be deployed as Deputy Principal in a Constituent Campus, Head of Academic Department, Dean, Industrial Liaison Officer (ILO) or Examination Officer. Duties and responsibilities will include: –

  • preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and training in areas of specialization;
  • setting, moderating and marking exams;
  • organizing training activities within the institute;
  • coordinating the design, development and review of curriculum;
  • coordinating selection and admission of trainees;
  • organizing orientation programmes for new trainees;
  • creating and maintaining an up-to-date database of trainees;
  • inducting new lecturers/instructors; and
  • conducting seminars, workshops and symposia
