Audit Jobs, KMTC Jobs. Principal Internal Auditor leads internal audit operations and risk reviews, requiring an Accounting/Finance Bachelor’s, CPA-K/ACCA/CIA certification, and 9+ years audit experience (3+ as Senior Internal Auditor). Full-time role in Kenya.

Requirements

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:  

•  Cumulative service period of nine (9) years’ relevant work experience three (3) years of which should have been in the grade of Senior Internal Auditor or in a comparable position; 
• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (Finance and Accounting option) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution; 
• Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent qualification from a recognised and accredited institution;  
• Member of Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya (IIA) or any other relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing; 
• Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognised institution; 
• Proficiency in computer applications; and 
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results. 

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing and reviewing audit policies, strategies, standards and guidelines;
• Coordinating audit assignments in line with the approved audit work plan;
• Ensuring compliance of accountable records and documents and preparing audit papers;
• Monitoring and evaluating progress and effectiveness of action taken to implement audit recommendations received from internal and external audits;
• Coordinating information systems audit engagements including esting and evaluation of programs, quality assurance, and reporting of audit results;
• Coordinating preparation of reports and analyses that communicate audit results for the relevant business conditions and risks control;
• Safeguarding the College’s assets by establishing appropriate means of verifying their existence, ownership and valuation;
• Reviewing and evaluating the system of internal audit controls, assess their adequacy, effectiveness and proposing recommendations for their improvement;
• Undertaking special audit and investigations and ensure that a follow up mechanism is established and implemented; and
• Implementing new technologies and business applications.
