Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Pharmaceutical Technologist to join our Pharmacy Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, advising patients on drug use, maintaining accurate pharmacy records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients and provide guidance on their use.
- Counsel patients on dosage, side effects, drug interactions, and storage of medications.
- Maintain up-to-date stock records and monitor inventory levels.
- Receive, label, and store incoming supplies and ensure proper stock rotation.
- Prepare and maintain accurate patient and inventory records.
- Ensure proper documentation of prescriptions and controlled drugs in accordance with pharmacy regulations.
- Participate in pharmacy audits and ensure compliance with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff to promote rational drug use.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the pharmacy environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) and hold a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in a hospital or busy retail pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and drug interactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Proficient in computer applications and pharmacy software systems.
- Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
