Petroleum Officer (Geo-Chemist) II Job PSCK

Engineering Jobs, Public Service Commission Kenya (PSCK) Jobs. Geo-Chemist II analyzes rock, soil, and fluid samples, evaluates geochemical data for resource exploration, and maintains safety, requires a Geochemistry or Chemistry Degree.

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Petroleum Geochemistry, Petroleum Geo-Science, Petroleum Chemistry, Geology, Chemistry, Petroleum Exploration and Production, Analytical Chemistry, Earth Science, Industrial Chemistry, Exploration Geo-Chemistry or Chemistry and Mathematics from a university recognized in Kenya.

Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-

• collecting and compiling petroleum related geochemical data
• assisting in execution of planned geochemical field surveys for oil & gas projects;
• participating in basin analysis using geochemical petroleum data;
• participating in the preparation of petroleum related reports; and
• compiling oil and gas information for relevant stakeholders.
