Job Summary:
This position reports to the Clinician. To provide professional nursing care, promote health, prevent illness, and assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients, ensuring high standards of medical care within the university clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessment, triage, treatment, and follow-up.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately.
- Monitor patients’ conditions, record vital signs, and promptly report any changes to the clinician.
- Offer health education and counseling to patients and staff on preventive and promotive health practices.
- Maintain proper documentation of patient records in line with clinic policies and medical regulations.
- Support in immunization, family planning, wellness checks, and chronic illness management.
- Ensure infection prevention and control practices are observed.
- Participate in medical outreach programs, health campaigns, and wellness initiatives.
- Uphold ethical and professional standards in patient care.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Registered and licensed with the Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant experience in a busy clinical or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of basic emergency care, counseling, and health education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and record-keeping skills.
- A committed born-again evangelical Christian.
