Job Summary
This is a hands-on, modern design role focused on producing high-impact visual content for digital audiences. You will work closely with editors, video producers, social media managers, and commercial teams to deliver compelling graphics, motion visuals, and branded content—often on tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
- Design digital-first graphics for news, features, social media, web, and video platforms
- Create motion graphics and short animations for social media and video content
- Develop visual assets for branded content, campaigns, and partnerships
- Design thumbnails, lower thirds, explainers, and visual storytelling elements
- Maintain brand consistency across all Switch Media platforms
- Collaborate with editorial and commercial teams from concept to execution
- Deliver fast turnarounds without compromising quality, especially during breaking news or live events
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating digital, social, and multimedia design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro)
- Working knowledge of motion graphics and basic video editing
- Strong understanding of social media formats, aspect ratios, and platform trends
- Ability to interpret editorial briefs and translate them into strong visuals
- Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
- A designer who actively uses modern tools to work smarter and faster. This includes:
- Understanding of ethical and responsible use of AI in journalism and media
What We are Looking For
- Pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including digital and print media.
- Proficiency in graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong visual and creative skills with an eye for detail in layout, color theory, and typography.
- Ability to translate concepts and directions into compelling visual designs.
- Creative, curious, and digitally native
- Strong visual storytelling instincts
- Comfortable in a newsroom or content-driven environment
- Detail-oriented but fast and adaptable
- Willingness to experiment with new formats, tools, and trends
Added Advantage
- Experience working in a media house or digital newsroom
- Knowledge of data visualisation or explainer graphics
- Photography or videography skills
- Familiarity with CMS platforms and social media publishing tools
