Duties and Responsibilities
- Collection of bodies from wards;
- Performing autopsy procedures;
- Body embalming; admission and dispatch of bodies;
- Cleaning of the mortuary;
- Cleaning of mortuary equipment and body reconstruction;
- Wrapping in mortuary sheets, labelling and storing of dead bodies in the Cold room of the mortuary; and
- Keeping of appropriate registers for receipt and delivery of dead bodies at the mortuary;
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Minimum of KCSE C- (Minus);
- Certificate in Mortuary Science or any other equivalent from a recognized institution;
- License from Kenya Health Professionals Oversight Authority; and
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
