Mechanical Technician Job Gold Crown

Gold Crown is hiring a Mechanical Technician to install, maintain and ensure the efficient operation of machinery and production systems. The role is based in Nairobi and experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Maintain tea packing machines, conveyors, bucket elevators, motors, gears, pneumatic systems, and other plant equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
• Prepare maintenance reports and raise spare parts requisitions through the ERP system.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized workshop and work area.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a recognized technical trade certification.
• 2–4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or continuous production environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office; knowledge of ERP systems and CAD is an added advantage.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
