The Marketing & Downstream Operations Officer supports Finagra’s market development, demand generation, and efficient product movement from warehouses and farms to offtakers. The role ensures alignment between marketing activities, demand forecasts, inventory availability, and downstream logistics to drive timely market access, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth.

Market development and buyer engagement

  • Identify, negotiate, and secure off-take and supply agreements with key buyers, including processors, feed manufacturers, and export aggregators.
  • Expand and maintain buyer networks across grains, oilseeds, tubers, and horticultural value chains.
  • Engage clients continuously to understand product specifications, delivery timelines, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with agronomy and operations teams to align crop production with market demand.
  • Build and nurture relationships with aggregators, cooperatives, processors, and export partners to strengthen market access.
  • Represent Finagra at trade fairs, exhibitions, and stakeholder forums, promoting sourcing and supply capabilities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform commercial decisions and downstream operations
  • Undertake any other tasks as may be required by the business from time to time.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. Masters’ degree is an added advantage.
  • Additional training or certifications in sales, marketing, or supply chain/operations is a plus.

Experience

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in marketing, sales, commercial operations, or downstream distribution, preferably within agribusiness, FMCG, or related sectors.
  • Experience in building and managing buyer networks, handling client relationships, and executing trade or market engagement activities.
  • Familiarity with agricultural value chains, downstream logistics, and product distribution.
  • Hands-on experience in negotiating contracts, managing off-take agreements, or coordinating product delivery is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to market research, trade marketing, and customer engagement is an advantage.
