About Kuwa Pay
Kuwa Pay is a cross-border payment company focused on helping SMEs and traders make safe, efficient, and compliant payments to China. We support daily business needs such as paying Chinese suppliers in RMB and USD, with a strong focus on practical solutions for importers, wholesalers, and local merchants in East Africa. We are now expanding our presence in the Eastleigh business community and opening a dedicated outlet at BBS Mall.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and coordinate local market promotion activities in Eastleigh, with a focus on BBS Mall and the surrounding ECD trading area.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of local field promoters embedded in the Eastleigh community.
- Identify key trading areas, merchant groups, and high-potential customer segments among Eastleigh’s import trader community.
- Support customer education on payments to China, onboarding, and basic product usage.
- Collect market feedback and report practical insights to management.
- Help Kuwa Pay build strong, long-term relationships within the Eastleigh business community.
Who We Want to Meet
This is not a desk-only position. High academic qualifications or a prestigious background are not required. We are looking for someone who is deeply rooted in the Eastleigh community, understands its trading culture, and can build trusted relationships on the ground. Requirements
- 5–10 years of practical experience in Eastleigh or the broader Nairobi import trading community.
- Deep familiarity with the Eastleigh (ECD) market, including BBS Mall and surrounding wholesale and retail trade networks.
- Strong personal network within the Eastleigh business community; able to build trust quickly with local traders.
- Understanding of the cultural dynamics and business practices of Eastleigh’s merchant community.
- Proven ability to recruit, organize, and supervise field promoters.
- Hardworking, hands-on, reliable, and willing to handle demanding fieldwork.
- Excellent communication skills in Somali and English; Swahili is an advantage.
- Experience in merchant acquisition, market promotion, or field sales preferred.
- Background or familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering (AML)compliance is a strong advantage.
