Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: –
- Library and Information Science, Library and Information Studies, or Library, Archives and Records Management from a recognized University in Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
This will be the entry and training grade for this cadre.an officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include: –
- accessioning, stamping and labeling of the acquired information resources;
- shelving and shelf arrangement;
- charging and discharging library resources, pasting date due labels;
- preparing file pockets and press cuttings;
- spine marking;
- fixing book jackets;
- listing of materials for binding; and
- filing catalogue cards
