Responsible for teaching and assessing students, developing course materials, conducting research, supervising students, and supporting academic programmes. Requires a relevant postgraduate qualification in the respective discipline. The position is based in Mombasa and requires on-site work.

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
  • MMed in Human Pathology or equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by KMPDC.
  • Sub-specialty training (e.g., onco-pathology, cytopathology or molecular pathology) will be an added advantage.
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Recognition as a specialist/sub-specialist by KMPDC.
  • Retention in the KMPDC register.
  • Valid Practice License from KMPDC.
  • Valid Indemnity Cover.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

Experience

  • At least three (3) years of teaching in a school of medicine at the level of a lecturer in the area of pathology.

Application should include an up-to date Curriculum Vitae (CV), providing details of age, academic and professional qualifications, work experience, current designation and salary, email address, telephone, name and contacts of three referees who are knowledgeable about the competence of the applicant, a copy of National Identification Card, copies of relevant certificates and testimonials.

Candidates with foreign Academic Qualifications MUST submit a Certificate of Recognition from the Commission for University Education (CUE).

Details of academic and professional certificates not obtained by closure of the advert shall not be considered.

Upon offer of employment successful candidates shall be required to provide valid clearance certificates from the following Bodies:

  • Kenya Revenue Authority.
  • Higher Education Loans Board.
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigations
  • Registered Credit Reference Bureau
