Job overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Landscaping CAD Technician to support our landscaping design team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer-aided design (CAD) with a focus on landscape architecture and the ability to produce detailed, accurate technical drawings for landscaping projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Create accurate 2D and 3D landscaping design plans and technical drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.), based on input from landscape architects, designers and clients.
- Assist the design team in developing detailed plans for hardscape and softscape elements, including pathways, patios, retaining walls, water features, planting beds and other landscaping features.
- Prepare site-specific plans that integrate landscaping elements with architectural structures, ensuring seamless design and proper spatial alignment.
- Develop detailed sections, elevations and construction details for landscaping elements
- Ensure all drawings adhere to project specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with landscape architects and other design professionals to refine and adjust plans as needed.
- Provide technical support during the design and implementation phases of projects.
- Incorporate survey data, topographical maps, and site-specific information into CAD drawings to ensure designs are accurate and feasible.
- Review and check designs for accuracy, ensuring all dimensions, materials, and design elements are correctly represented.
- Maintain organized CAD drawing files, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible for the design team.
Knowledge, experience & Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscaping CAD drafting
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
- strong background in computer-aided design (CAD) with a focus on landscape architecture
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Familiarity with site planning, survey data, and regulatory requirements
Competencies and skills
- Technical skills in CAD software
- Relevant educational background
- Professional experience in landscaping CAD drafting
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Strong organizational and file management skills
