Kentalya Plc is a floriculture company located in Naivasha along Moi South Lake Road. We are seeking to recruit a dedicated Laboratory Manager to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical and organizational leadership of plant in-vitro propagation, including planning, controlling and monitoring of all lab processes
• Ensure timely execution of cultures and deliveries in line with quality standards
• Development, optimization and validation of culture media, protocols and in-vitro production processes
• Train, lead, and develop lab staff
• Plan and manage staff schedules for laboratory personnel
• Ensure and continuously improve workplace safety and hygiene measures in compliance with lab regulations
• Managing quality assurance, documentation and data evaluation
• Coordinate maintenance, calibration, and procurement of equipment, consumables and media ingredients
• Work closely with Management, HR, Purchase, Facility Management, IT
• Provide regular reports to management

Qualifications:

• Degree in a natural sciences field (e.g. biology, horticulture, agricultural sciences, biotechnology) with focus on plant biotechnology or equivalent qualification
• Experience in the field of (plant) tissue culture is desirable
• Strong organizational skills, structured and independent working style, high attention to details
• Excellent communication skills, team orientation, and ability to motivate and develop staff
• Highly self-motivated and resilient
• Responsible, efficient, and quality-oriented method of working
• Good IT skills
• Good English skills
