About the role
Are you a detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexibility? We’re seeking a Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Nairobi!
What You’ll Do:
- Review and verify financial transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and confirm balance sheet reconciliations and rollforwards
- Analyze revenue streams, profit margins, and productivity
- Categorize expenses for budgeting and classification
- Prepare monthly budgets, rolling 12-month comparisons, and cash flow forecasts
- Post journal entries for accurate financial reporting
- Conduct variance analysis (YoY, MoM, Actuals vs Budget)
- Deliver tailored monthly financial reporting packages to clients
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience in public accounting and CPA certification is a plus
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with multiple clients or client-facing accounting roles
- Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, OneDrive)
- Team-oriented, proactive, and solution-focused mindset
