IT Support Specialist Job

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for users seeking technical assistance through various channels (phone, email, remote desktop support system).
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and basic network connectivity.
  • Guide users through troubleshooting steps and provide clear instructions to resolve issues.

Incident and Request Management

  • Manage, document, and prioritize incoming support calls according to urgency and impact.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to System Administrator when necessary, providing detailed information for efficient resolution.

Hardware and Software Support

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot basic software applications and operating systems.
  • Provide support for hardware issues, including setup, configuration, and basic repairs of desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
  • Manage inventory of IT equipment, track assets, and ensure accurate records are maintained.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

  • Document troubleshooting steps, issue resolutions, and contribute to the IT knowledge base for future reference.
  • Create user guides, FAQs, and provide end-user training for common issues and new system features.
  • Stay updated on the latest IT developments, tools, and security best practices.

Proactive System Monitoring and Maintenance

  • Monitor IT systems, networks, and services, and respond to alerts or performance issues or escalate when necessary.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and updates on desktops, laptops, and other devices to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Identify potential issues and suggest improvements to enhance IT support processes.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Information Technology, or a related field with at least 2 years’ experience.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certifications would be an advantage.
  • Microsoft Certified: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or equivalent certifications.
  • Problem solving and communication skills.
