Job Overview

The IT intern will work for Branch Microfinance Bank at our Nairobi Office and will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and provide technical support to employees
  • Create work orders for repairs and service
  • Document help desk and repair requests, and ensure conclusive resolution
  • Perform routine security checks on the system
  • Work with vendors to resolve equipment/ software issues
  • Install, configure, and patch servers, storage, and other IT infrastructure
  • Monitor servers and data centers to ensure they are operating properly
  • Manage user accounts and system permissions
  • Support the development, maintenance, and review of the bank’s ICT policy and procedures which support the strategic objectives.
  • Support the Senior IT Associate in ensuring that the organization has appropriate and up-to-date ICT functionality, software, and hardware in an effective, efficient, secure, and cost-conscious manner.
  • Support the Senior IT Associate in running the bank end of day processes, as well as any ad hoc requests

Qualifications

  • Degree in IT or a related field
  • Advanced computer skills – SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and experience troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • You are highly entrepreneurial. You take the initiative to solve problems before they arise. You’ve started and/or contributed to projects you’re passionate about.
  • You are a great collaborator. You know that startups are a team sport. You listen to others, speak your mind, and ask the right questions.
